Best seats I have ever felt on any train. Seats were ergonomic and well padded, the headrest pillow is soft, and nicely adjustable. Recline lever is under the seat, along with a base extension lever, and gives you really good recline. Power sockets are Schuko type, down between the seats. There is a device holder behind the tray table. It is pretty low down, though it does allow you to put your phone there in portrait, while charging it.

Large overhead racks, some extra luggage racks scattered around the train, pretty good there.

A/C was not needed the day I travelled, but the Wi-Fi worked great. Info screens display in multiple languages, and they also display useful, and accurate information. (Looking at you, ÖBB.) DB's ICE Portal website is simply amazing, tells you everything you need to know about your journey, and also shows you what is in stock in the Bordrestaurant.

Lavatories are HUGE. Water pressure is not all that great though. But they do work, so oh well.

Ride quality was the best I have ever felt, especially on a high-speed train. It was also surprisingly quiet up at those speeds, so I am very impressed. Pressurisation was also pretty good, difficult to complain there.

Best train there is on European rails, I could easily see myself going ot Germany just to ride this guy again sometime in the future.

definitly one of my favorite 2nd class coaches, even very comfortable for extremely long journeys. unfortunately, footrest is missing

Took it from Munich to Amsterdam, all around the most comfortable ICE of them all, tied with the class 407.

The seats are wide and well padded, the dining car offerded ample seating and the lovely charm we know from previous generations.

The only negative I have are the weird placements of the seats, being placed diurectly at a window strut offering very little to no view, one deduction for that.

Otherwise a great train, looking forward to getting to ride them once ITALO puts them into service from 2028!

Well, comfortable seats, very good lighting, quiet, air conditioning work very well... But only 230V outlets, no USB (or just the one I traveled on miss that). I don't count restaurant car here, that's for different review

Insgesamt sehr komfortabel, Manchmal aber wegen der hitze außen ein bisschen warm drinnen. Manchmal die lichte waren auch zu weiß oder zu hell.

Comfort provided by BR408s is something that all of the railway companies should strive for.

I am aware that DB gets a lot of hate - some of it is valid, some of it is unnecessary. However, I will always defend DB (FV) for usually having really good "hard products" and BR408 is the best example of that.

ICE 3neos have everything a passenger needs - power outlets, great passenger information system, tables, a restaurant car, GREAT soundproofing and an extremely smooth ride. The floor is fully covered by a carpet for additional sound dampening in both classes. There is barely any differences in comfort when travelling at 100 or at 300kmh; it is always a joy to travel on BR408, even if it's delayed by 120 minutes.

While the seats in the first 17 (?) ICE3neo sets are just okay, the newer ones are absolutely amazing in both the 1st, as well as in the 2nd class. They offer a high level of privacy, amazing recline, great equipment (including various table configurations and separate cup holders in the 1st class!), nice fabric and most importantly, they are very well profiled. This all results in these seats providing absolutely outstanding comfort, beating all of the competition.

The lighting makes the interior very cosy and it is not overly bright.

ICE 3neos are usually rather cool (but not too cold), which I personally enjoy.
