A kocsik eredetileg az 1990-es évek elején, az NDK-beli DWA Bautzen (Deutsche Waggonbau AG) üzemében készültek, felújításukat a szolnoki JJÜ végezte.
Termes kialakítású másodosztályú kocsik, amelyek 80 ülőhellyel rendelkeznek.
A kocsik termes jellege, az ülések kialakítása hosszabb távú utazásra is megfelel. A jármű azonban csak légjavító berendezéssel van felszerelve, ami nagy külső hőmérséklet esetén nem tudja a kocsit megfelelően lehűteni.
