I travelled with company in Sleeper Comfort. Both berths were comfortable. The bedding was great, say for the extremely small pillow. There are nets for both beds, which is much appreciated. Upper berth does not get a bedside table though, even though there could have been space for that, and that annoys me. There is a storage pouch, but that is not a great spot to put glasses or water for example. You also have a corner seat and a table that converts into a bench, but we just kept it as a table to store our water glasses and amenity paper bags. Also the wireless chargers are mounted on the wall, and because the way they hold your phone, you need to take the case off from it. I ended up using the Schuko plug provided. There is an additional USB-A port (ughh why not C) mounted under the wall plug. This is right next to your adjustable reading light and storage pouch on the lower bed. And the higher berth has the electrical outlets along with a second pouch on the opposite end, for reasons quite frankly beyond me, especially because both berths narrow towards the foot end due to the lavatory being next to you there. You still have plently of space despite that narrower footwell though, it is wide enough to be comfortable to lie sideways or even on your back.
There is storage under the lower berth, and is goingto be limited to about one suitcase and one backpack per person. Only the lower bed gets a window though, which is understandable, but sad. There are two blinds, a typical mesh blind that does absolutely nothing, and a proper blackout one. I only used the blackout one.
Temperature control was abysmal ****. Set to the highest setting, it blew warm air onto the window of the lower bed, and blasted cold air directly onto my travel companion sleeping on the top one. I was comfy down low, but they were freezing up top. Wi-Fi worked perfectly in Austria, and was only down in tunnels outside of there. There are no passenger displays inside the cabin, only out on the corridor. Not that any of this matters, because the train has not the slightest clue on where it is durint it's journes. And so neither does the ÖBB Railnet website or Scotty app help, because they are just as clueless as you and the train itself. Lighting brihgtness is controllable, and there is RGB mood lighing, which I quite enjoyed.
The lavatory/shower being inside your cabin is just the best thing ever. It is not perfect, however. The space is overall quite tight. Water temperature control works about as well as the A/C. Despite the whole lav being a wet area, there are no waterproof storage locations for things like the dirtly chlotes you just took off, your fresh chlotes and your towel. The shower is activated via long pressing the shower button, and the showerhead in the sink begins firing with actually really good water pressure. (It can be moved around, don't worry.) You have a couple of seconds before it shuts off again. I do think you can activate it an undefined ammount of times, but please be considerate of your fellow passengers.
You do get amenity paper bags as well, a glass, two cartons of water (either 50 or 100 cl each, I no longer remember that), a small bottle of sparkling wine, some snacks, an eyemask, earplugs, branded slippers and a branded pen. Breakfast is also of mint quality.
The coach itself rides silky smooth, and it's well insulated, even at 200 km/h in a tunnel. Never got to see it go 230 km/h sadly, even though we were on the Koralmbahn, with just this Viaggio Next Level set and a 2nd gen Taurus. Pressure keeping is also great. One annoying thing was how the breakes groaned during intense breaking. Not enough to wake you from your sleep, but enough to be noticable, especially on rolling stock this new.
Whoa, quite the essay, this one.
