Seats were ergonomic and a bit firmer than the new ones on the ICE 3s. The headrest pillow is soft, and nicely adjustable, though it does not stay where you leave it, and headrest wings are sorely missing. Recline lever is under the seat, and gives you really good recline. There is only one power socket per two seats, which is not enough. It is down between the seats though, exactly where it should be.
Large overhead racks, some extra luggage racks scattered around the train, pretty good there.
A/C was not needed the day I travelled, but the Wi-Fi worked great. Info screens display in multiple languages, and they also display useful, and accurate information. (Looking at you, ÖBB.) DB's ICE Portal website is simply amazing, tells you everything you need to know about your journey, and also shows you what is in stock in the Bordrestaurant.
Lavatories are HUGE. Water pressure is not all that great though.
Ride quality was compareable to a Railjet in my experience. Traction motor sounds are not the nicest I have heared and quite audible in motorised cars. The ICE-T also takes her sweet time to get up to speed. Pressurisation was pretty good though.
The tilting is really good, you do not feel it.
Feels like an ICE 3 lite in many ways.
Wenn man hier zwischen 1. Klasse und Bordrestaurant sitzt, bekommt man manchmal die Schokolade für die 1. Klasse Fahrgäste
