Vybavení jednotek 848 je dobré, pro regionální dopravu naprosto dostačující a ve valné většině případů funkční.
U jednotek 848.4 [ARR 848 jmk] je vybavení naopak bída. Audiovizuální informační systém téměř vždy nefunguje a jednotky nejsou schopny odbavovat zastávky fungující v režimu "na znamení", vlak proto vždy zastavuje. Na prodejní automat se né vždy lze spoléhat, často totiž sice svítí ale na dotek nijak nereaguje, tím pádem si cestující není schopný zakoupit jízdenku, což, vzhledem k absenci běžných průvodčích, může být problém.
