The 6111 type comprises multiple different configurations (suburban configuration with 1+2/1+1 seating, regional configuration with 2+2 "sofa" benches (original interior) and modernized regional 2+2 configuration).

Seat comfort: the best seat comfort is the original regional configuration, which has "benches" which are soft to sit on and quite good for longer journeys, although they have no headrest. The modernized units have either the round seats like the Beet, which are very uncomfortable to sit in due to low headrest, short seat area and being generally hard (units 004, 012, 016 for example), or a newer design like in 6112 101, which are much better shaped, although not much softer to sit in.

All of the units are equipped with destination displays on the sides of the front 4111/5111 cars, and additionally the modernized units have displays on the fronts too. They also have overheard luggage racks and conductor intercom. However, they have no interior information signs, as well as no power outlets or Wi-Fi. The original interior unit (010) has tables for each set of seats which are not present in the modernized units. Bicycles can be transported in the 4111 cars by the drivers cab.

The units are well lit inside, the light color is not too harsh for resting, and reading should be comfortable within them.

Noise levels are quite low within the train sets, they are slightly higher when passing through curves, however there is not much vibration to be felt. The door sounds aren't too noticable since each section between the doors is split apart.

The Friedmann heating within the cars is capable of keeping warm temperatures inside (however, sometimes it may even get too hot within the units). They do not have air conditioning, so in combination with windows which may only be tilted open they are hot during summer.

The exterior of the cars is not maintained well however, as they are severely vandalized, often times with spray paint over windows obscuring the view for some seats.
